(C)Islamabad Post, pakistan pm vowed to safeguard the chinese nationals
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged to keep safe the Chinese Nationals who are working in the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) near Karachi. The threat arises after the ‘terrorist attack’ on two Chinese Nationals who were killed in an explosion. The explosion took place on Sunday night near the international airport of the Southern Pakistan city of Karachi. Based on the given reports, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) a separatist militant group, claimed the explosion attack on the Chinese nationals and engineers. The attack was accomplished using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.
In March, five Chinese engineers were killed by a suicide bomber. It was followed by coordinated attacks which killed 70 people. The attacks and intentions behind all these events are the dissatisfaction of BLA with the investment of the Chinese government. They claim that they are exploiting their country. The consecutive terror attacks creates a tense situation for the Pakistan government because of the upcoming global event SCO Summit, in which the Indian Foreign Minister is participating for the first time in history. The security for all these officials are reported as in peril.
“This was the Chinese IPP that had pledged to move forward with us, to create a win-win situation for both China and Pakistan. These are the people who stepped forward to help Pakistan, their senior management also flew from Beijing to move the process forward” said the Finance Minister of Pakistan after the attack of Chinese nationals. He expressed his condolences over the loss of lives.
The Pakistan PM gave his statements to ensure their safety because of their involvement in the critical infrastructure projects including CPEC – China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He also guaranteed that the 2014 political crisis which was created by the former PM Imran Khan will not get repeated. In brief, the long sitting/dharna led by Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri’s party forced the President of China Xi Jinping to cancel the agreements which are related to CPEC. His statements are made to set the seal on the strong bilateral ties and foreign investments between Pakistan and China.
“Pakistan stands committed to safeguarding our Chinese friends. We will leave no stone unturned to ensure their security and well-being” said by PM Shehbaz Sharif in his X post after the terror attack.
