Ramadan is the ninth Islamic month of calendar considered as the most Holy month for Muslims. They fast during the day and pray a lot in front of Almighty Allah. This year Ramadan is set to start from 23rd March 2023 in Saudi Arabia.
According to a report from Arab media, a former professor of astronomy at Al-Qassim University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Massand said that first day of Ramadan is expected on March 23rd, Thursday. He is also serving as deputy chairman of Meteorological Society.

Emirates Astronomy Society
He told media that the sun and moon will converge on 29th Shaban which is setting o. 21 March at 8:23 pm. It means that first Ramadan will be on 23 March. Earlier, Chairman of Board of Director of Emirates Astronomy Society, Ibrahim Al-Jarwan also forecast that Eid Ul Fitr is likely to take place on April 21 and Ramadan will be starting from March 23.
According to the media reports of Saudi Government, the sighting of moon for Holy month Ramadan will begin after the sunset on 21 March. Pakistani scientists and Islamic scholars will also begin the sighting of moon from 21 March.

It should also be noted that the Crescent of Shaban was sighted on February 21, considering the eighth Holy month of Islamic calendar. It is also considered as pure Holy month for Muslims in which they pray a lot and fasts in days.
