PM for free metro bus tickets in Ramadan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the Peshawar Mor to Islamabad International Airport Metro Bus project in Islamabad on Thursday. The premier ordered an inquiry on the project.

According to details, Sharif was briefed by the Capital Development Authority and National Highway Authority officials about the Metro Bus project which has been delayed for four years now. Sharif ordered an inquiry into why the project was delayed.

“There is no reason for the project to be facing delay then why has the project been delayed for such a long time?”

Sharif was briefed that initially 15 buses would be provided for this project while the expected date for the buses to reach the federal capital is May 15. He said the project will be initiated from Saturday.

The PM suggested that there should be a Metro station on the Motorway and there should be an ample space set for luggage in the buses.

The Prime Minister expressed utter disappointment at the fact that even after spending 16 billion rupees, the project had not been completed.

Sharif ordered that the projects of public benefit needed to be completed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, spokesperson Marryium Aurangzeb said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed a free metro bus service for all commuters during the month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.

Aurangzeb said the premier had also directed to prepare feasibility for Bhara Kahu and Rawat routes of bus service.

The spokesperson said the PM had directed to ensure quality travelling facilities for Islamabad’s residents.
