Two transgender stopped from flying in foreign airline

Two transgender activists were denied from flying international because of their different gender. Shahzadi Rai and Zarish, were flying from Karachi to Dubai, where they were stopped because they are different from other.

Both the transgender activists were travelling to Dubai for participating at their annual meeting of gender rights. Both of them got their tickets from Gender Interactive Alliance which was cancelled by FlyDubai when they were about to take the flight.

Human rights of Transgender community

Right after the cancellation, activist took it to social media and posted about the whole scenario of how management stopped them from flying. The activist told that every country is changing and people like us are living normal life.

But here we are not even allowed to travel normally, if the airline is not ready to accept as travelers than why they issued us the tickets, she posted the tickets issued by Fly Dubai airline.

A lot of transgenders started commenting on the post, as shame on Fly Dubai. One of the transgender community member of Pakistan, Hina Baloch also commented that, this is bitter reality and truly hijraphobic behavior. Our community is demanding strict action from foreign office of Pakistan.

Right before the cancellation of tickets, Shahzadi Rai posted a picture of airport with caption, “the goal is to die with memories, not dreams”. Unfortunately the dream of travelling turned into a sad incident because of some illiterate management.

The transgender community of Pakistan is now emerging and having rights in every field of life yet this behavior of airline is unbelievable and demands justice for their community.
