What happened to our schools?

The education system of Pakistan was never so satisfying for students, according to some research papers 65% of students are not satisfied with their education system. Recently a bullying case of a girl shocked the citizens and now this suicide case is also a question about the quality of education in private schools.

According to the details, a girl who is just 13 years old and studying in six class committed suicide in her school building in Hyderabad. The girl jumped from the sixth floor and died on the spot. According to the First Investigation report, the girl stood up with her school bag, she crossed the railing and jumped from the building. CCTV footage showed that a man was trying to intervene but the girl suddenly jumped.

The dead body of the girl was immediately shifted to Liaquat University Hospital where a full autopsy was conducted.

In an interview, the girl relative told police that there wasn’t any dispute between the families and that we need police to investigate fully on the issue. There should be some reason that our girl took such an extreme step.

Education Minister took notice

The Education Minister of Sindh, Sardar Ali Shah took the notice of the incident and formed a committee for full investigations into the incident. The committee is headed by the Director of the private schools association. The Education Minister directed the committee to investigate the incident without any delay and report to him within 48 hours.

The Education Department of Sindh suspended the registration of the school over the incident, saying that it is totally the negligence of the school administration. We can clearly see that some of the teachers were also present at the spot but they didn’t act wisely to save the girl. The preliminary investigation report has been sent to Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

These kinds of incidents are a big question mark for the safety of our children. Previously bullying incident from a private school in Lahore was also unbearable and now a kid committing suicide in school is totally unacceptable. The Parents are feeling insecure about sending their kids to school.
