Asian Champions Trophy Hockey – Men’s
Men’s Asian Champions Trophy Hockey has been held annually since 2011. It is comprised of six different nations of Asia which include, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, China, Japan, and South Korea. This year the event commenced on September 8 hosted by China. On the same day, Pakistan played their first game against Malaysia. Pakistan etched their first two points in the 24th and 32nd minutes of the match which was equaled by the Malaysian Hockey team in the 37th and 56th minutes of the game. Their first match was a draw.
On September 9, Pakistan played their second game against South Korea which was also a draw match between them. The first two draw matches had disturbed the three-time champions. On their third match which was held at Moqi, China on September 11 Pakistan played furious to seize their first victory in the Asian Champions Trophy Hockey. The game began at 13.30 p.m. Pakistan had been dominating the field from the very beginning of the match. Pakistan locked their win with the two goals scored by Sufyan Khan and Ahmad Nadeem. During the sixth minute, Japan tried to grab their chance of the first goal which was tactically stopped by Captain Ammad butt through a penalty corner. Pakistan was leading the game until the 27th minute and Japan made their first goal in the 28th minute by Raiki Fujishima.
