The Portuguese side advanced to the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar with a 2-0 victory over Uruguay at the Lusail Stadium thanks to a goal scored by Cristiano Ronaldo that was later credited to Bruno Fernandes.
In a game with few and far between clear-cut opportunities, Fernandes curled a tease from the left that appeared to brush Ronaldo’s hair tips before finding the back of the net nine minutes into the second half.
