WASA Rawalpindi Intensifies Crackdown On Water Bill Defaulters Across City

WASA Rawalpindi water bill defaulters

WASA Rawalpindi water bill defaulters are facing a stricter revenue recovery operation, as the agency intensifies action against long-term unpaid water and sewerage bills. The campaign is being carried out under special directives from Managing Director Aziz Ullah Khan.

WASA Rawalpindi Water Bill Defaulters Face Final Warning

Defaulters have been given a final warning and a deadline to clear their dues. Those who fail to comply face immediate disconnection of water connections, removal of water motors and possible legal proceedings, while no special concessions or preferential treatment are being granted.

The operation is supervised by Senior Special Magistrate Amir Ashfaq Qureshi, Director Finance and Revenue Tahir Bashir Mirza and Deputy Director Revenue Akmal Yasin. This layered supervision shows a clear chain of responsibility for the recovery drive.

Field teams are working alongside the Pakistan Punjab Police to carry out the actions on the ground. Recent crackdowns have focused on Satellite Town (E-Block) and Wards 73, 74, 75 and 76, which suggests a ward-by-ward approach to covering the city.

Revenue Recovery and Public Service Delivery

Consistent bill recovery matters because water and sewerage services depend on steady income for maintenance, repairs and network expansion. When long-term dues remain unpaid, the burden can fall on residents who pay on time, so equal enforcement supports fairness across the city.

The wider policy question concerns how strict recovery can be balanced with convenience for households. Clear deadlines, accessible payment channels and transparent communication would help residents settle dues before disconnection, and a predictable system of that kind could strengthen public trust in civic institutions across Pakistan.
