UK's first female envoy to Pakistan

Jane Marriott OBE is selected as the first female High Commissioner from United Kingdom to Pakistan, she is due to take up her role in Mid July as the first female envoy to Pakistan from UK.

Before Pakistan, Jane Marriott was working as a United Kingdom High Commissioner to Kenya from September 2019 to June 2023. She worked perfectly and delivered a new UK-Kenya Strategic Partnership.

She worked a lot in Kenya to strengthen ties across mutual prosperity, sustainable development, security and stability, people to people links and tackling climate challenge.

UK-Kenyan Cooperation

Jane oversaw the launch of a new clean, green, sustainable energy project as well as delivering UK-Kenyan cooperation to create the first-ever Kenyan Marine Commando Unit.

She also worked to help Kenya in the fight against terrorism in the country and region. Jane also worked for restoration of over 1000 hectares of deforested land, UK also established a Digital Access Programme in Kenya under her leadership.

On the announcement of her appointment she said, “I am incredibly excited to be appointed as the next British High Commissioner of Pakistan, a country I am delighted to have visited twice before”.

She further added, “I am looking forward to getting to know this culturally rich and deeply diverse country even better. The United Kingdom’s relationship with Pakistan is rooted in shared history. Our people-to-people ties bind our countries together in common partnership, which I will be aiming to strengthen further”.
