The organization of JICA Japan International Corporation office of Pakistan announces the extension in helping flood victims in Punjab & KP. JICA already provided basic health and living facilities in the regions of Punjab and KP which are highly affected by flood. Now upon the request of Punjab and KP government, the government of Japan decided to extend support in affected places.
The Pakistan office of JICA provided the victims with 4 million water cleaning tablets, 9000 nets for mosquitoes and 80000 ORS in Punjab & KP. JICA further announces to provide help in worst conditioned eras of Punjab and KP, DG khan, Rajanpur, DI khan, Charsada and Nowshera.
Flood caused a lot of challenges
Almost 80,000 families will get health and food benefits which include pregnant ladies, kids and infants under one. The 2022 flood in Pakistan caused a lot of challenges for victims in health, maternal and sanitary issues. Around 6 million women are not provided with maternal and pregnancy basic facilities. Almost 400,000 children got affected by dengue, malaria, cholera and other health issues on serious concerns.

Japan International Corporation decided to provide vaccines for the eruption of transferrable diseases and providing medicines for infants and kids under the age of five.
The Project of Strengthening Maternal and Newborn Health care in Punjab
The JICA is already working in Pakistan on “The Project of Strengthening Maternal and Newborn Health care in Punjab” to provide health care facilities for the people who got affected in flood. Including Covid-19 and now Floods 2022, the japan government has always provided Pakistan the best possible help in the situation of crises.
