Sharif’s 10-day Vacation
The Sharif family left for Europe on Monday for a 10-day vacation, including PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz.
According to sources, Mr. Sharif, Ms. Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Hasan Nawaz, Junaid Safdar, and other family members will be taking a short 10-day trip to many cities in Europe, moving from one to the next by train or airplane. According to the sources, the vacation was only taken for fun.
What Passport is Sharif Travelling on?
According to reports, Mr. Sharif is traveling on a diplomatic passport that the government just last week gave him. His passport had expired the previous year, when the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had threatened to revoke it.
According to information obtained, Mr. Sharif at the time decided against applying for a renewal because he knew the government would deny him a new passport.

Nawaz Sharif received an ordinary passport in April of this year after PTI Chairman Imran Khan was ousted from office following a vote of no confidence.
Last Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) granted Mr. Sharif the all-clear and authorised him to get a diplomatic passport with a five-year validity.
Passport & Visa Manual
As stated in Para-45 of Part-I of the Passport & Visa Manual, 2006, dignitaries of the state, diplomats, and other qualified categories are awarded diplomatic passports. Former prime ministers are also given diplomatic passports, as are their dependent children. The MoFA is in charge of approving diplomatic passports.
Separately, reports claimed that Mr. Sharif had withdrawn an appeal he had filed with an immigration tribunal, in which he had contested a decision by the Home Office to refuse to extend his stay in the UK.
The Home Office judgement was made in August of last year, but Mr. Sharif was given a chance to appeal, so he was legally permitted to stay in the UK until he had exhausted all of his appeals options.
