Marriyum Trolled For Misstating Facts About National Anthem

Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb was criticised on social media for misrepresenting the premiere of the national anthem.

Ms Aurangzeb told the media ahead of Independence Day that the country’s first prime minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, inaugurated the national anthem in 1954. She stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would relaunch the national anthem after 68 years.

Minister was Chastised on Social Media

The minister was chastised on social media for her blatant error, as Liaquat Ali Khan was slain in 1951, three years before the national anthem was first played. Ms Aurangzeb, on the other hand, has yet to apologise for her error.
