india-has-no-right-to-oppose-china-pakistan-statement-on-kashmir
Kashmir has been a major issue for years between India and Pakistan, and the two countries have fought significant wars over this major issue of the territory of Kashmir. International conflicts between the countries lead to war and conflicts that harm the peace and stability of the countries. A spokesperson for the Foreign Office of Pakistan has stated that India has no right to oppose the statements of China and Pakistan on Kashmir.
What FO Spokesperson Said?
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson, has declined the comments by the External Affairs Ministry of India on the joint Pakistan and China statement on Jammu and Kashmir and also demanded India implement resolutions of the United Nations on the territory. On Wednesday, the FO Spokesperson stated that “India has no right to oppose the references made to Jammu and Kashmir in the China-Pakistan joint statement of 8 June.” The statement by the FO Spokesperson of Pakistan came as an answer to media queries related to comments of the Indian ministry on 13 June. Mumtaz Baloch said Jammu and Kashmir was a disputed territory, and the dispute is on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council. She also stated that it is an established fact that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory that has been recognised internationally and has been on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council for more than seven decades. The FO spokesperson focused that according to the relevant UN resolutions, the final status of the territory of Jammu and Kashmir would be determined through a democratic plebiscite under the supervision of the United Nations.
She also insisted that the claims of India over Jammu and Kashmir were totally misplaced and unfolded. She said, “India should not mislead the international community about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, reflecting it as a significant developmental initiative between two sovereign nations.” Baloch said instead of creating baseless claims about the CPEC, India should implement the relevant resolutions of the UNSC on Jammu and Kashmir.
What is the statement of Pakistan-China?
In the joint China-Pakistan Statement, Pakistan has summarised the Chinese government on the recent developments of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The statement mentioned that China reiterated that the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir is a historical issue and should be resolved peacefully as per the UN Charter, bilateral agreements, and UNSC resolutions.
Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of India’s External Affairs ministry, rejected these references to Jammu and Kashmir by China and Pakistan. He stated that, “We have noted the unwarranted references to Jammu and Kashmir in the joint statement between China and Pakistan. We categorically reject such references.” He also highlighted that the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will always be integral parts of India.
