He claimed that the cotton crop had been washed away, which directly hurt textile exports, while the floods had devastated the rice harvest by 50%. 

Speaking on Monday to a team of importers and exporters, Mr. Siddiqui said that Pakistan was the world’s fourth-largest exporter of rice and earned over $2 billion in 2017. Massive rains brought about by weather patterns triggered by climate change has harmed rice and cotton crops, he continued.
