Bowlers help Sri Lanka defeat Australia in rain-hit ODI

Chamika Karunarantne Led The Sri Lankan Attack

Fast bowler Chamika Karunaratne led the Sri Lankan attack as it pulled off a thrilling 26-run win over Australia in the second rain-hit One-day International on Thursday.

A Rain Revised Target Of 216 In Total 43 Overs

Chasing a rain-revised target of 216 in a total of 43 overs, Australia suffered regular wicket falls to get bowled out for 189. Sri Lanka bounced back from their opening loss in the five-match series being played in Pallekele.

Karunaratne returned with figures of 3-47. He took Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell. He was ably supported by fellow quick Dushmantha Chameera, who got the final batsman to bring the home crowd to its feet.
