After finding a special job posting, Maddie learns that two wealthy helicopter parents (Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick) are looking for someone to date their withdrawn son Percy (Andrew Feldman) before he heads off to college.
Maddie will be able to save her childhood home following her mother’s passing in exchange for getting to keep her automobile and continue working for Uber. When Maddie learns more about Percy’s nature, she will undoubtedly be surprised.
The trailer shows Maddie initially finding it difficult to connect with Percy because he interprets her attempts to get to know him as an abduction attempt.
The funny incident in which an inebriated Percy accidentally punches Maddie in the neck as she was arguing with an older man is also shown in the trailer. Slowly but gradually, Maddie gives Percy the confidence he needs while also giving him parenting guidance.
“On the verge of losing her childhood home, Maddie uncovers an unusual job listing: wealthy helicopter parents seeking for someone to ‘date’ their reclusive 19-year-old son, Percy, before he heads off to college,” according to the official synopsis for the movie. “Maddison quickly learns the uncomfortable Percy is no sure thing, much to her astonishment.”
