The Zayed Giving Initiative and Pakistan
The Zayed Giving Initiative was first on the scene to aid the victims when floods hit Pakistan in July 2010. Children devastated by the floods have been receiving free medical care from a 110-bed mobile children’s hospital. The first mobile field unit to particularly address the needs of children in a disaster zone, the pediatric field hospital was established for children under the age of 18 affected by the recent floods in Pakistan. The hospital, which was built in collaboration with the Pakistani ministry of health, has surgical and emergency rooms, a pharmacy, a specialty clinic, and a general pediatric ward.

Recent developments between Pakistan and the UAE
In a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last week, a team of economic specialists from the United Arab Emirates underlined their desire to advance “bilateral economic cooperation” between the two nations, particularly in the areas of commerce, and energy, infrastructure, and petroleum.
With a view to discussing the implementation of decisions taken by the Pakistani and UAE governments during the premier’s most recent tour to the Middle East, the group landed in Pakistan on May 3.
In a meeting with specialists, Prime Minister Shehbaz reportedly stated that Pakistan gave its brotherly ties with the UAE the utmost priority and that it wanted to “strengthen the connections to the next level, especially on the economic front.”
The statement also stated that the two parties had agreed to increase their economic cooperation, particularly in key areas including trade, energy, infrastructure, and petroleum. For the “implementation of the investment and trade decisions reached at the top level,” they further concurred to maintaining constant touch.
