Woman Claim Babar Azam Subjected Her To Sexual Viaolence, Abuse

In a controversial press briefing held this week, a Lahore-based woman has claimed that current Pakistani skipper Babar Azam subjected her to rape, physical and mental torture.

Addressing a large gathering of the media personnel from the country, the woman named Hamiza was flanked by her lawyer where she claimed that she was Babar’s neighbour and an old school mate. She said that Babar had tricked her into love and marriage.

“When I asked him to marry me, he tortured me,” she said. “I supported him financially when he was struggling before he became famous. I spent millions of rupees on him.”

She also asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to lodge a formal complaint against Babar and asked the relevant authorities to take action against him.

The claims made by her received mixed responses from the media as well as the observers who asked her to share proofs if there were any. The woman during the press conference also shared a picture of herself sitting with Babar Azam.

This is not the first time that a cricketer has been subject to such controversy as earlier Shoaib Malik, Imam-ul-Haque, and Shaheen Shah Afridi also faced a similar ordeal.

It is yet to be ascertained if the claims made in this case hold any ground as currently the skipper is in New Zealand where he will play two tests and two T20is against the Kiwis.

Babar Azam has still not released any statement on the matter and has not responded to multiple questions. Moreover, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also remained mum on the entire episode and hasn’t made a statement on the matter as well.

Cricket analysts have said that the move was choreographed to tarnish the image of Azam and the woman will unlikely be able to defend her statements in a court of law.
