UAE has announced immediate aid
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced immediate aid and support, including shelter and food for those affected by floods in Pakistan.
The devastating floods followed by the unprecedented monsoon rains in Pakistan have claimed about 1000 lives and affected more than 19 million people across Pakistan since mid-June, the NDMA confirmed.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered Saturday the provision of immediate relief aid to Pakistan, which is seeing torrential rains and floods resulting in deaths, injuries, and displacements.
Humanitarian relief services

The UAE relief aid includes 3,000 tonnes of food supplies, tents, and shelter materials, as well as medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
The UAE relief teams will also provide humanitarian support to Pakistani institutions and cadres concerned with efforts to secure the affected and their food, logistical, and medical needs.

“The field teams of UAE Embassy in Islamabad, Consulate General in Karachi, UAE Red Crescent and Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation continues to work around the clock to provide emergency relief assistance to the flood affectees in various Pakistani provinces and areas,” tweeted UAE’s embassy in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the UAE President also sent his condolences to the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, over the victims of the flood devastation that has taken over the country, which resulted in numerous deaths and injuries, wishing all the injured a great recovery. The Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai also sent a similar cable to Dr. Alvi.
