The State-owned Insurance Company threatened the closure of Sehat Card Programme which was launched by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Government. The closure is warmed due to ongoing tussle between State Life Insurance and Punjab Health Feasibility.
The State Life Insurance Company demanded the payment of pending dues of Rs 83 billion, the letter issued by State Life Insurance stated that programme is going to close as budget management is the main issue.

The detailed letter by State Life Insurance stated that total budget of Sehat Card Programme is Rs 125 billion while Health Ministry is giving only Rs 31 billion of funds. The Punjab Health Company Chief Ali Razzaq assured the release of pending funds for insurance company.
Free of cost Medical Services
Sehat Card Programme was launched by government of PTI during their tenure in aim to provide free of cost medical services for poor and deserving people. The Sehat Scheme was first launched in KPK in 2016 and was extended in other provinces from 2021 onwards.

The medical bills under Sehat Card Programme covers Rs 1 million annually and helping a lot of low income people in providing free of cost medical services.
