Qalandars defeated Sultans in first match

PSL-8 started yesterday with a grand opening, musical performances and huge fireworks loved by many people. In the first match Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultan played a breathtaking match and at the end Qalandars won the match. Khushdil Shah and Zaman Khan fought at the last moments to defend 14 runs.

Multan Sultans scored a great hit by partnership of Shan Masood and Muhammad Rizwan. At last Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled out Muhammad Rizwan after scoring 75 runs from 50 balls. Muhammad Rizwan scored his 13th fifty of PSL in the first match.

After Muhammad Rizwan and Shan Masood got out on scoring 131-2, the partnership broke and the left-arm skipper Haris Rauf bowled Yorker to David Miller and cleaned him from the pitch.

Finest bowling from Lahore Qalandar

In the last over the situation was crucial for the fans as Multan Sultans needed 15 runs to win over 6 balls, Shaheen sent young player Zaman Khan on pitch. With his good strategy bowling he sent Usman Khan to rest room with LBW.

After this wide bowl, the next bowl also resulted in run-out for Usama Mir. Khushdil Shah at the end hit two boundaries but Sultans fell two runs short to reach the target. The performance of Lahore Qalandars was totally phenomenal in the first match scoring 176 runs in 20 overs.

Fakhar Zaman scored 66 runs off 42 balls, and young opener Mirza Tahir Baig scored 36 off 26 sharing the partnership of 61 runs before first wicket. From Multan Sultans, Muhammad Rizwan with Shan Masood shared a strong partnership but Lahore Qalandar bowling side was too tough to handle.
