PTI supporter fined and jailed for posting against Army. The accused himself admitted that he is a worker of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf and he posted the stuff against army. Although it did not have any background purpose but he did a crime under the law of cyber and electronic crimes. All the documented evidences are present in cybercrime department.
The accused tried to create conflict between senior officers of army which naturally has an effect on junior subordinates. He tried to create a wrong image of Pakistan army among public. The defense failed to provide enough evidences and supportive arguments which proved that this is all self-speaking of accused.

The court sentenced accused to one year prison under section 20 of PECA ordinance and also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lac on him. Under the ordinance of 500 u/s PPC, he is sentenced to one year prison and 10,000 fine. Under section 505, Sikandar Zaman is convicted for three years jail and Rs 50000 fine.
The court order also explained that he is discharged from liability of bail and mobile phone recovered during the raid will be state’s property. Focal person of PTI social media handles Azhar Mashwani tweeted that PTI lawyers are trying to connect with Zaman’s family and we will not let him stay in jail for long.
Tweets about plane crash
An army helicopter crashed in flood relief efforts in Baluchistan in which six officials martyred including a corps commander. After which a wave of political comments started on social media including some hateful tweets against army.
The online campaign against army was so harsh that people start believing it and making strong reactions on it. The Inter Services Public Relations also condemned this baseless social media campaign against the armed force of Pakistan. The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) started investigation and tracking, arresting and legal action started against social media accounts.

Many of the accounts got banned and many people who tweeted against Pakistan army got arrested. While this punishment of three years jail and fine is the first implication against online crime against respectful institute of Pakistan.
