With a strong eight-wicket victory in the important third and final match at Perth Stadium, Pakistan had achieved their first ODI series victory on Australian soil since 2002 in a historic performance of skill and determination. The squad demonstrated their abilities under the wise leadership of Mohammad Rizwan defeating the current world champions 2-1 to end the series.

In his first series as captain, Mohammad Rizwan also had a successful start with this historic win.The most notable aspect of the series was Pakistan’s pace attack, which dominated the final.

After winning the toss, Pakistan decided to bowl first, and their pacers ripped through Australia’s batting order. Despite a short comeback, the hosts were bowled out for a pitiful 140 with more than 18 overs left after losing half their team for just 79 runs.

After suffering a close loss in the first match of the series, Australia fell badly and was unable to hold off the constant pressure from Pakistan’s powerful bowling attack. The Australian team was bowled out for just 140 runs after being put up to a tough fight by Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf, who displayed incredible speed and accuracy. In addition, Mohammad Hasnain made significant strides into Australia’s batting order, most notably by dismissing Adam Zampa, as the home team collapsed under the difficult Perth pitch conditions.

“It’s a special moment for me and the fans. I’ll give all the credit to the bowlers. Australia in Australia is not easy. But Saim and Abdullah have given us a couple of great starts too. The fans love us regardless of whether we win or lose and I really appreciate that,” said captain Rizwan.

Pakistan’s youthful openers, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique created the tone for the innings with a strong partnership while chasing an achievable score. Shafique and Ayub both scored 37 and 42 runs respectively with their consistent play creating a strong basis for victory. Pakistan won in just 27 overs thanks to Rizwan’s calm leadership which allowed them to easily accomplish the goal.

The prime minister Shehbaz Sharif termed the victory “the happiest occasion for the nation.” This historic victory raises Pakistan’s profile and creates excitement among fans who hope to see the squad perform consistently internationally.

The victory which reflects their improved preparation and determination is a turning point in Pakistan’s ODI goals. Rizwan and his squad are keen to build on this momentum going forward aiming to achieve even greater success in the sport of international cricket by taking on new challenges.
