In cricket news, Babar Azam, the talented batsman from Pakistan, has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC ODI rankings for batsmen. He overtook India’s Shubman Gill, securing 824 points compared to Gill’s 810. This change comes after more than a month of Gill’s reign and coincides with his absence from the ongoing Proteas series

Interestingly, the third and fourth positions in the rankings are also held by Indian batsmen, with Virat Kohli at 775 points and Rohit Sharma at 754.

Meanwhile, in the T20I rankings for bowlers, England leg-spinner Adil Rashid has climbed two spots to become the new number one, surpassing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and India’s Ravi Bishnoi, who now occupy the second and third positions, respectively. Rashid is the second English player to claim the top spot in T20I bowling after Graeme Swann more than a decade ago.

In T20I batting, Suryakumar Yadav extended his lead by 100 rating points after a quick century in the final match of India’s series against South Africa. Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan and Aiden Markram of South Africa follow as the nearest competitors.
