The excitement is building as Pakistan’s cricket team departs for India to participate in the World Cup 2023. After some visa delays and uncertainty, the team is all set to represent their country on the grand stage.
The team consists of 18 players and 13 support personnel, including their bowling coach Morne Morkel and cricket director Mickey Arthur. The journey began with a training session scheduled for the next day, followed by their first warm-up match against New Zealand on September 29.
Before leaving, team captain Babar Azam expressed his gratitude to cricket fans, requesting their prayers and support. He believes that with the fans’ love and support, Pakistan will shine in the tournament.
India’s issuance of visas to the Pakistan team was a relief, as it had caused concern regarding their participation in this prestigious event. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had voiced their concerns to the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the visa delay affecting the team’s preparation.
Pakistan’s World Cup campaign will kick off with a match against the Netherlands on October 6. However, the most anticipated clash against arch-rivals India is scheduled for October 14 in Ahmedabad.
