The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly agreed to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) idea of hybrid hosting plan for upcoming Asia Cup 2023, four matches will be played in Pakistan while rest will be held on neutral venue.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has given his approval to PCB’s proposal, however, the neutral venue is not finalised yet.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to host the initial phase of tournament in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, the rest of matches were planned for Dubai International Stadium. Hosting matches in Dubai will also result in highest sales of tickets.
The hybrid model resulted when BCCI decided to not send Indian Cricket Team to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023, BCCI showed the concern of security of their players.
Diplomatic Negotiations between Pakistan & India
The BCCI’s acceptance of Pakistan’s hybrid model for Asia Cup 2023 is next step forward but neutral venue is still an issue to be solved. The development also emphasises the importance of diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and India.

The next World Cup is also going to be held in India, and Pakistan, India relationship could also be an issue during the matches. Pakistan Cricket Board also ensured the visit of Pakistan Cricket Team to India for World Cup but final decisions are yet pending.
