Baisakhi Rituals Began in Hassanabdal

Baisakhi is one of the Holy event of Sikh religion and thousand of sikh men with their families reached Hasan Abdal for celebrating this event. This event is marked to pay homage to Guru Garanth Sahib, Holy book of sikh religion.

The Gurudwara Punja Saahib is lit up for eve of Baisakhi festival and around 10,000 devotees are gathered at the place for celebrating their religious event of Sikh religion.

Pilgrims from different parts of the world are gathered in Pakistan to offer their religious rituals which also includes ashnan, devotees took a dip in the scared water pool for removal of their past sins.

While talking to a Journalist, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee leader said that, it the most important desire of every sikh to visit holy sites like Punja Sahib, Nankana Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib which are located in Pakistan.

Every Sikh living in any part of the world consider Pakistan as their second home because it is a land of Sikh gurus and Sikh Pilgrims are always welcomed and loved in Pakistan showing the true example of Sikh-Muslim Friendship.

Beginning of Sikh New Year

A religious event Besakhi, a mark of New Year beginning for Sikh people all around the world is on its way. All the Sikh community is set to celebrate the beginning of their New Year. Pakistani Sikh community is on its full swing for celebrating their New Year with full joy and happiness.

The grand event of Besakhi would be held in Gurduwara Punja Sahib in Hassan Abdal. The newly appointed first female Hindu Commissioner of Hassan Abdal, Sana Ramchand talked to media regarding the celebrations.

A large number of Sikh devotees visit Gururdwara Punja Sahib every year from around the world, and all kind of facilities are provided to them during their visit to Sikh Holy place. She said that last year, alone 2100 Sikh people visited Pakistan from India through special trains operated via Wagah border. They visited Sikh Holy places and celebrated their New Year.

Regarding the annual festival, Evacuee Trust Property and Pakistan Gurdwara Committee is ordered to renovate all the Sikh Religious places in the city. The Besakhi celebrations will be starting from April 10th. The Deputy Commissioner also talked about current circumstances of the country saying that Pakistan is our homeland and we must overcome the difficulties for its prosperous future.
