The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reinforced professionalism and contractual discipline by imposing a one-year Dasun Shanaka PSL ban on Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). It was announced as a decision following a formal consideration and means that Shanaka can no longer be eligible to play PSL 12 in 2027 and reflects the zero-tolerance stance toward breaches of contract displayed by the board.
The transfer comes after Shanaka alerted Lahore Qalandars of his departure from the contract before PSL 2026. Although this decision might be seen as harsh, it is a strong indication of the increasing role of Pakistan in ensuring credibility and international image of its T20 league.
