The NUST has made its presence at the international level in research work with 43 of its researchers named as the 2% top scientists all over the world. For 2024, Elsevier has collaborated with Stanford University for this list; it is going to mention 1,00,000 top-inventing personalities all over the world. This accomplishment is the development that NUST has undergone in the last three years, because while in 2021 the institution had only nine scientists, in 2024 it will have 43 scientists or researchers.
This research quality is further boosted by NUST’s competitive performance in the global university rankings with the University placing 353rd globally and 64th in Asia according to the latest QS University Rankings.
The Stanford-Elsevier rank uses an extensive method of bibliometric analysis measures that include counting citations, use of h-index, and author position to measure scientific impact. The systematic approach adopted here guarantees that the research impact is evaluated comprehensively across disciplines.
According to Tribune, the recognised scholars are Dr Muhammad Shahid, Dr Noreen Sher Akbar, Dr Meraj Mustafa Hashmi, and Dr Rizwan Ul Haq, with 23 of the listed researchers appearing consistently in the top 2% over the years.
