(C)Geo Super, shehroze kashif pakistans youngest climber conquers all 14 highest peaks
Sheroze Kashif at the age of 22 has achieved an extraordinary feat cementing his place in mountaineering history and has etched Pakistan’s name bringing fame and recognition to the nation. The climber became the youngest Pakistani to summit all the 14 highest mountain peaks worldwide after reaching the top of Shishapangma (8027 metres).
The Bilquis and Abdul Razak Dawood Foundation played a pivotal role in Sheroze’s journey by not only providing financial support but also the much needed moral support. Kashif’s mountaineering journey began at the age of 11. By 19 years, he was making history by scaling the summit of Mount Everest (8849 metres) as on May 11, 2021 followed by another record breaking achievement by reaching the top of Mt Kanchenjunga (8586 metres) on May 5th, 2022. 11 days later he was again climbing and reached the top of Mt Lhotse (8516 metres).
He continued his climbing streak reaching Gasherbrum 2 and Gasherbrum 1 (8035 and 8080 metres) respectively in August the same year. Last year, he added Cho Oyu (8201 metres), the sixth highest peak of the world, to the list.
About the recent summit, Sheroze’s success came despite the challenges posed by the chilling conditions in Shishapangma, a peak with tragic history. The peak is known for avalanches claiming the lives of US climbers and Nepal with two of the group still missing. Despite the harsh natural conditions and threats, Kashif succeeded in climbing the peak in one attempt.
