Education fund for needy students being spent on Clubs

National Endowment Scholarship for Talent is a special scholarship program for needy students who are talented but cannot afford their high education. The most eligible and deserving students get this scholarship for financial aid in their education.

Ministry of Education and Professional training run this program. The Board of Directors of NEST in a meeting approved that four senior education officers submitted an application for issuance of membership card in Islamabad elite club. The application signed on all the payment checks will be paid by program NEST.

Case details from IHC

The four officers named Athar Hussain Zaidi, Faysal Qasim, Qamar Safdar and Quratulain Talha are under serious problems after opening of the case in Islamabad High court. The total of the bill spent on membership cards are approximately 25 million. After the case opened all four officers got their termination letters.

The four education officers challenged their termination in Islamabad High court, IHC ordered FIA for full investigation of all process and next hearing on the matter will be on 25 January.

The IHC ordered education ministry to not hire any other persons on these four posts until the case is fully investigated and directed for serious penalties against all of four officers.

Spending education funds for personal use or any other use is seriously a negative step, government is offering a lot of scholarship funds for needy students but some of black sheeps in the department are ruining all the system. We need to point out all the culprits of such fraud, and black money cases to make Pakistan free of any fraud.
