On Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan embarked on a four-day official visit to China.
The high-level delegation, comprising Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Planning Minister Asad Umar, Commerce Advisor Abdul Razak Dawood, Special Assistant on CPEC Khalid Mansoor, and National Security Adviser Dr. Moeed Yousaf is accompanying the premier on the trip.
Imran Khan will participate in the ceremony of the Winter Olympics and will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
Prior to departure, the ministers termed the PM’s visit to China of great significance.
Qureshi said Imran Khan’s meeting with the Beijing leadership would centre upon regional matters, bilateral strategic partnership, and security and peace in South Asia.
NSA Yousaf said the visit would be an opportunity to ponder ways to improve peace in Afghanistan to rule terrorism out.
“Pakistan-China ties are higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the oceans,” Fawad Chaudhry said.
Fawad added that the premier would hold meetings with the Chinese businessmen and investors on the sidelines of the tour.

Furthermore, he stated that the PM’s visit would slate the arrival of more Chinese businessmen in Pakistan to move their industries here.
The statements given by the ministers show that the government hopes that PM Khan’s four-day trip to China will reinvigorate the CPEC project.
“Different sectors have been identified to be discussed at length with the Chinese leadership,” the Information Minister said.
The sectors to be pondered during the PM’s visit are related to trade, information technology, the Special Economic Zones created under CPEC, agriculture, and the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan.
There has been an impression that CPEC has slowed ever since Imran Khan came to power three years ago. However, Islamabad expects the PM’s visit would be a boost for projects the ambit of CPEC.
