Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Housing Scheme 2026 is a scheme to provide decent and affordable houses to the people of Pakistan under the Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Housing Scheme initiative. It is intended to help low and middle-income families obtain subsidised finance to purchase their first home.
Eligible Applicants Can Get Financing Up To Pkr 1 Crore
The scheme allows eligible persons to avail financing of up to PKR 10 million or PKR 1 crore. The amount is enough to buy or build a house of 10 Marla (around 2,720 square feet) or a flat of up to 1,500 square feet.
You can repay it over a period of up to 20 years, so the instalments are more manageable. Applicants are to make a minimum down payment of 10 percent and the remainder of 90 percent is financed by the participating banks.
5% Fixed Markup For First 10 Years
One of the main features of the scheme is the subsidised markup rate. A fixed 5 per cent markup in the first 10 years of financing means that borrowers can save on monthly repayment costs.
For the first 10 years, the markup is fixed. After the first 10 years, the markup is based on prevailing market rates, which may be linked to KIBOR and applicable banking margins.
Eligibility Requirements And Application Process
The scheme is targeted mainly at first-time home buyers between the ages of 20 and 65. Eligible are salaried and self-employed persons earning a minimum of approx PKR 50,000 per month.
Applicants are required to submit CNIC copies, photographs, income and property documents. The applications can be submitted either via the official Apna Ghar portal or via the participating banks, including Meezan Bank, HBL, Bank of Punjab, and Askari Bank. The initiative underscores Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote affordable home ownership and economic development.
