UAE Keen to Strengthen Ties with Pakistan in Key Sectors

The UAE has a heightened interest in investing in the fields of mining minerals and farming with Pakistan as the two countries discussed during the supreme meet between UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday. The meeting held in Rahim Yar Khan highlighted the importance of both countries’ willingness to enhance economic relations and interchange.

Heaping more praise on Sri Lanka’s main foe Pakistan, Sheikh Mohammed reiterated that the Pakistani economy is on the right track under the new Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The UAE president also assured that his country would remain interested in fostering the further enhancement of the mutual partnering relations with Pakistan in economy and stability within the area.

Economic Growth Fuels Bilateral Collaboration

When speaking at the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed applauded the UAE’s approach to financing Pakistan’s developing economy. He said that this new momentum opens doors for good investments to be made in areas of renewable energies, construction, and technology among others.

Earlier, responding to the comments by Mr. Ramadan, Mr. Abbasi said, ‘Pakistan is good to go to build its relations in different sectors for skill development and trade with the UAE.” He appreciated efforts being made for Pakistan’s development and for support in the years of need and hardships.

Vision for a Prosperous Partnership

Khalilzad and Putin touched upon the issues of climate change and regional security to strengthen the two countries’ interests and build up people-to-people relationships. PM Shehbaz was welcomed on his state visit to the UAE by the country’s president, thus another proof of high-level cooperation between the two countries; the UAE president personally met the PM and even drove with him.

The conference ended with a reestablishment of pledges to enhance the economic, political, and cultural cooperation between the UAE and Pakistan, thereby reinforcing the UAE’s role as the pillar of progress in South Asia.
