two new records have been achieved by the mohammed bin rashid al maktoum solar park.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has reached new heights in sustainable energy at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, breaking two records. The park now boasts ‘The Tallest Concentrated Solar Power Tower,’ standing tall at 263.126 meters, and ‘the largest thermal energy storage plant,’ storing a whopping 5,907 megawatt hours. These achievements were made possible through Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) with Molten Salt technology, implemented in the 950MW 4th phase of the solar park, combining CSP and photovoltaic solar panel technologies.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, DEWA’s MD & CEO, proudly accepted certificates from Guinness World Records representatives during COP28, hosted by the UAE at Expo City Dubai. Al Tayer told about DEWA’s commitment to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. which focus on adopting the latest and clean energy technologies. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world’s largest single-site solar park, reflects this commitment and contributes to the UAE Net-Zero 2050 Strategy and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.

The 4th phase of the solar park demonstrates DEWA’s dedication to clean energy by utilizing three hybrid technologies: 600MW from the CSP parabolic basin complex, 100MW from the CSP tower based on Molten Salt technology, and 250MW from photovoltaic solar panels. The project features 70,000 heliostats that precisely track the sun’s movement.
