Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has landed in Dubai to lead the Pakistani delegation at the 28th United Nations Conference of Parties (COP28). Welcomed by UAE’s Minister for Justice Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi and Pakistan’s Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, PM Kakar’s presence marks a pivotal moment in addressing Pakistan’s stance on global climate action.

The COP28 summit, commencing on Thursday, November 30, and extending through December 12 gathers leaders worldwide to deliberate on Strategies combating the Climate crisis. With approximately 70,000 Participants including heads of State Climate envoys, Experts and activists, the Conference aims to Formulate agreements on Climate Goals.

Accompanying PM Kakar are key ministers including Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Caretaker Minister for Climate Change Ahmed Irfan Aslam, and Caretaker Energy Minister Muhammad Ali. Their Collective Participation Underscores Pakistan’s Commitment to addressing Climate Adversities.

Pakistan, despite contributing less than 1 percent to global greenhouse gas emissions, faces disproportionate challenges from Climate change. The World Bank Highlights the Country’s Heightened exposure to extreme Weather events, exemplified by recent Floods in Balochistan.
