Sajid Sadpara announced K2 Cleanup Campaign

Sajid Sadpara, the son of Muhammad Ali Sadpara announced the campaign “ K2 Cleanup Campaign” a campaign to clean k2, and aware the mountain climbers of dealing with all the challenges of mountain climbing. The campaign will be starting from August 2023.

Sajid Sadpara announced the news on his official twitter account saying that he is excited for this campaign, local mountain climbers from Gilgit will join Sadpara in campaign. He said it is volunteer campaign and all the volunteers are welcomed to join it.

Challenges for mountaineers

Sajid Sadpara said that he wanted to clean and beautify this natural gift of Pakistan and shared his emotional attachment with K2, as his father got died in the mountains. Mountain climbing is the life of people from Gilgit-Baltistan, we cannot stop them from climbing but what we can do is to aware people about the challenges of climbing.

Sajid Sadpara posted a short video in which he told that I came here on my own will and excited to clean the natural beauty of Pakistan, and the last resting place of my beloved father, Muhammad Ali Sadpara.

He announced various programs of this cleanup campaign which includes awareness guidelines to face challenges, workshops on dealing with any climate change anniversary and plans to do further for sustainable tourism.

Father of Sajid Sadpara, Muhammad Ali Sadpara, went missing from K2 in February 2021, and declared as dead after two weeks, along with his two fellow climbers. Sajid Sadpara is continuing his father’s dream of mountain climbing. He said I am hoping that our efforts will help the future climbers in dealing with any kind of mishap.

Sadpara paid thanks to everyone’s effort in helping him fulfilling his father’s dream, and hoping for Pakistan government to help him further in his mission of safe mountain climbing and sustainable tourism in Pakistan.
