Punjab has stepped up action under the Punjab kite flying ban 2026 against illegal kite flying to save the public and prevent deadly accidents caused by dangerous strings. Kite Flying Laws Of Punjab: Severe Punishments
Serious consequences have been introduced with the new legal provisions for illegal kite flying and related activities. Flying kites is illegal, and offenders can be imprisoned for 3 to 5 years and fined up to PKR 2 million.
Manufacturers, sellers and transporters of banned kite materials will face stiffer penalties, including jail terms of five to seven years and a fine of up to PKR 5 million. The authorities have made several violations non-bailable offences to make it work properly.
Safety Measures For The Protection Of Citizens
To curb accidents from dangerous kite strings, the Punjab administration has imposed stringent safety rules. The use of metallic wires, nylon cords and glass-coated manjha continues to be banned for being dangerous to motorcyclists, pedestrians and residents.
In places where kite flying is allowed under controlled conditions, only approved cotton strings and registered kites are allowed. A QR-coding system has also been implemented to track approved products and identify manufacturers more efficiently.
