Pi Network will move its Mainnet to Open Network status at 8:00 AM UTC on February 20, 2025. This new stage transforms the Pi Network into a connected system for real-life uses. The Pi community stands ready for new developments after 10.14 million Mainnet moves and 19 million verified Pioneers demonstrated their dedication to the organization.
Pi Network’s Growth and Achievements
Pi Network has developed from December 2021 through its enclosed Network phase up to the present day. During this initial phase, Pioneers finalized their KYC to let developers construct apps while the Core Team added new platform possibilities. During 2022 the platform brought in a better way to issue mining rewards which balances network development and keeps it operational in the long term.
During July 2024 the Grace Period began to expedite KYC processing for Mainnet operations without waiting for unverified Pi users. During the PiFest 2024 event, 950,000 Pioneers from 160 countries conducted 27,000 plus transactions with fellow sellers.
What to Expect from Open Network
During Open Network Mainnet will lose its firewall but will permit trade with external systems as well as verified platforms. All users and business customers must pass their KYC and KYB requirements to keep Pi Network protected from security threats. Developers will receive top priority when they move their Testnet nodes to Mainnet based on their existing contributions to the network.
As soon as all requirements are ready Pi Network will start its Open Network operations. Pioneers must complete KYC procedures while supporting Pi Apps and helping the token work better in payment systems.
