In a historic move, Master Changan Motors Ltd (MCML), a Pakistani automotive manufacturer, has begun shipping its first batch of SUVs to Kenya. This significant step marks the company’s foray into the international market, with 14 Oshan X7 SUVs leading the way.

The roots of MCML lie in a collaboration between Pakistan’s Master Group and China’s Changan Automobile. The Vehicles Proudly bear the Label Made in Pakistan and will soon be available in Kenyan and Tanzanian markets. Moreover the company has Ambitious Plans to broaden its export Operations to include other Countries in the near Future.

This Momentous export event took Place in Karachi, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The CPEC, a key initiative within China’s expansive Belt and Road project, is Designed to Strengthen trade and infrastructure Connections between China and Pakistan.

CEO of Master Changan, Danial Malik, shared insights into the company’s global ambitions. He revealed that they are actively working to integrate Master Changan into Changan’s worldwide vehicle supply chain, following what is known as the “Vast Ocean Plan.” This strategy, outlined by Changan Automobile’s Chairman Zhu Huarong, involves a substantial $10 billion investment in overseas markets, with a specific focus on advanced, environmentally friendly vehicle technologies. Master Changan Pakistan, functioning as the Right-Hand Drive (RHD) manufacturing hub, plays a crucial role in realizing this extensive global plan.

Malik expressed appreciation for the government’s support through the auto export policy 2021-2026, which encourages and incentivizes growth within the automotive sector. He also called on the government to adopt policies that stimulate domestic vehicle production, ultimately enhancing economies of scale and fostering local production, which would make Pakistan’s automakers more competitive on a global scale.

The Oshan X7, Master Changan’s flagship model, is an SUV of remarkable dimensions and outstanding performance. It’s powered by Pakistan’s unique 1.5L Turbocharged Engine, offering a Fuel Efficiency of 14-15 kilometers per liter and an impressive Acceleration Rate, reaching 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 8.23 seconds.
