Despite the out of form and winless series against England, Nida Dar has retained her captaincy. There have been notable omissions and also additions to the team that would head to SriLanka for the Tournament. 

Notable batters Ayesha Zafar and Sadaf Shamas have been excluded from the team. The 15 member squad also does not include names like Netalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Umm e Hani, Waheeda Akhtar as they have also been dropped out.

Faces such as batting allrounder Iram Javed gets a chance after the tour of Bangladesh last year along with Omaima Sohail and Syeda Aroob Shah. Omaima and Syeda come back in the side after a long time  from the tour of New Zealand and South Africa respectively.  

Debutant Tasmia Rubab has been called up to play for the nation. Tasmia is a  22 year old left arm fast bowler and is considered a rising star among the cricketing circle

The head coach of the team has been changed recently, Mohammed Wasim taking the chair while Junaid Khan takes the place of assistant coach and Abdur Rehman appointed as the spin bowling coach. 

Squad for the T20 Asia Cup includes Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi, Nasha Sandhu, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Omaima Sohail, Tuba Hassan, Tasmia Rubbab and Syeda Aroob Shah led by Nida Dar.

The team has been placed in Group A with India, Nepal, and UAE while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Malaysia are in Group B.

The tournament is to start from July 19 and continue till 28th July in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
