Prominent Pakistani actor Noor-ul-Hassan has proven his versatility as an onscreen performer over the years. This year, he has made a significant impact through his performance in historical series ‘Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi’ – a joint production by Turkey and Pakistan.

The series is based on the life and conquests of Sultan Salahuddin. It centers on the 12th-century Muslim leader, highlighting his story of defeating the Crusaders and re-liberating the first Muslim holy city of Jerusalem in 1187 after 90 years.

The drama series started airing on Turkish television last year. Later on, it also started airing in Pakistan on Hum TV. It can also be caught on Dubai One. Several famous Pakistani actors and producers such as Humayun Saeed and Dr Kashif Ansari are producing the project.

Noor-ul-Hassan’s impactful role in ‘Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi’

In the recently aired 98th episode of the drama on Sultan Salahuddin’s life, Noor-ul-Hassan portrays the esteemed Islamic preacher, scholar and spiritual figure Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani – a highly respected religious figure famous for spreading the message of Islam.

The Pakistani actor’s role is brief but holds great significance as it provides spiritual guidance to the protagonist in the drama. The producers asserted that the main target of the drama are non-Muslims not completely informed of Muslim history.

Numerous Turkish and Pakistani historians have put significant efforts into the story. Sultan Salahuddin is depicted as the adopted son of Nur ad-Din Zengi and his goal is to unite the Muslim territories of Syria, northern Mesopotamia, Palestine and Egypt.
