Monkey Pox cases in Islamabad

Two cases of Monkeypox detected in Islamabad labelled to be originated from Saudi Arabia. Isolation ward is also set up at Karachi Airport where passengers with any symptoms will be transferred.

The identity of victims with monkeypox has been kept secret and samples of blood were sent to National Institute of Health in Islamabad which also confirmed the presence of virus in samples.

Hospital Administration Required

Sindh Health Services Directorate also issued a notification about hospital administration required to establish isolation centre at airport with five to 10 rooms for monkeypox cases.

The isolation area should include infection control measures, hand hygiene facilities, personal protective equipment to provide full treatment and care to patients.

People are also advised to protect themself from diseases. If anyone with acute illness with fever >38.3°C, intense headache, back pain followed one to three days. They are advised to consult doctor as soon as possible.

State run and private hospital administrations are also requested to support for monkeypox cases by sharing information immediately.

World Health Organization (WHO) also reported cases of monkeypox in 110 member states across six regions, 130 death reports are also reported by WHO.
