Masks mandatory again for Pakistanis

National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) issued new guidelines for people of Pakistan till April 30, keeping in view the increase in Covid-19 cases reports. NCOC recommended people to wear masks in public places and healthcare institutes.

According to the health reports, 129 new Corona virus cases are reported from different parts of the country in last 24 hours. National Institute of Health (NIH) also shared the data regarding Covid cases, reporting 2.98 % of positive cases while 14 patients are in critical condition.

Regulations & Coordination

National Health Services Minister Abdul Qadir Patel said that government had strengthen the regulation and rules for fighting with new variant of Corona Virus. There is surveillance system implemented again at all entry points of country.

He added that there would be rapid tests and screening of all the passengers going in and out of airports. No death was reported from Covid-19 while more than 4300 tests were conducted in different parts of country.

More than 520 tests are conducted in Lahore out of which 43 cases were Covid positive, 225 tests were conducted in Rawalpindi marking three cases as positive. Fourteen cases are covid positive from all 333 tests conducted in Islamabad.

The Minister said that we are controlling the situation and people are asked to avoid paying attention to rumors’. We also recommend public to wear masks in public places for their safety.
