Lahore air pollution
Lahore air pollution has returned to the spotlight after the city recorded an overall Air Quality Index of 199, ranking first on the latest global list. The reading has prompted residents and authorities to keep a close watch on daily conditions across the provincial capital.
Lahore Air Pollution Draws Fresh Attention
Air quality monitoring continues to give the public timely information, allowing families, schools and workplaces to plan outdoor activity with greater awareness. Such transparency remains an important part of managing seasonal pollution.
Area Readings Across the City
Several localities recorded higher figures than the citywide average. Gulberg, measured at the CERP Office, stood at 300, while Kahna Nau recorded 244 and Burki Road reached 224.
Model Town registered 220 and DHA Phase 6 stood at 201, and these localised readings help authorities identify where attention is most needed and support more targeted responses in the busiest parts of Lahore.
Rain Forecast Brings Hope of Relief
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast possible rain that can help bring down particulate matter in the air and showers usually deposit dust and lighter pollutants that can provide welcome relief in visibility and breathing conditions.
Temperatures are forecast to range from 22°C to 31°C, with light winds of 5 km/h. Light winds may limit pollutant dispersal, and the expected rainfall will be particularly welcome for the city’s recovery.
