iranian champion secures gold medal at international sanda tournament
At the 10th Sanda World Cup on Tuesday, Sedigheh Dariaei Varkadeh won gold in the women’s 65kg division through her strong performance in Iran. Dariaei confirmed her technical skills by defeating Krista Stepheny of Bermuda in the semifinal with a dominant 12-point score. She became a world champion when she beat Nicole Lowe-Tarbert of Australia to earn first place in the tournament.
The prestigious biennial competition, held at the Culture and Sports Indoor Stadium, features:
- Nearly 170 participants from 26 countries and regions
- Prize money for champions
- Organization by the Chinese Wushu Association under International Wushu Federation auspices
