drones light up islamabads sky for pakistans independence day
For the very first time in Pakistan’s history, drones featured in the independence day celebrations of the country on August 14, 2024. The mega show took place at a big park named Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad, the capital city.
What did people see?
People visiting the park witnessed something marvelous. Five hundred drones flew across the sky at night. These drones had lights on them and made beautiful pictures in the air. They depicted important things from the history and culture of Pakistan.
Famous Faces in the Sky
The drones clicked pictures of two very important gentlemen. One was Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who helped create Pakistan. The other was Allama Iqbal, a very famous poet who dreamt of Pakistan before it existed.
Pakistan’s Map and Flag
The drones also drew a huge map of Pakistan in the sky, which made the shape of the country visible to the people. They also drew a picture of the flag of Pakistan, and everyone felt very proud of it.
More Than Just Drones
Before the displaying of the display of the drone show, there was a musical festival that was entertaining. People were listening to songs and seem to be enjoying themselves. Then when it turned dark, the drone show began. It lasted 15 minutes, about as long as some TV shows.
Who Came to Watch?
Lots of families came to see the show at the park. People came from all ends of the city to get a look. Everyone was really ready and willing to see something so new and different.
Why Was This Special?
This drone show was very important because it was the first time Pakistan had done anything like that. That showed Pakistan is using new technology in fun and creative ways. Many people felt proud to see their country doing something so modern and impressive.
How Did People Feel?
People in the audience were astonished. They had never seen such a thing in their lives. The drones decorated lovely shapes and colours in the sky, and it seemed magic. Everyone felt so happy and proud of being Pakistani.

The present Independence Day celebration was unique in its own nature. High-tech drones of Pakistan flew instead of mere flags and parades to make the day ever memorable. Such a show people would remember for a long time, and they might hope to see more shows like this in the future.
