The defenders of the nation’s integrity and sovereignty are honored. They tributed the heroes who laid down their lives embodying the spirit of patriotism that resonates in the region. Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman was the chief guest who attended the event which took place at PAF Base Peshawar. He emphasized that their sacrifices continue to serve as a source of inspiration for the entire nation. He also stressed the importance of supporting the families of these martyrs who gave their lives for their motherland, as their bravery ensured the country’s safety and future.
The highlight of this incident is exhibitions showcasing military aircraft, including the F-16, JF-17, and various other defense systems. Similarly, many events took place in tributing the courage and bravery of military figures such as Captain Karnal Sher Khan, the celebrated hero of the Kargil War, who was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military honor in Pakistan. The unmatched valor, leadership, and devotion to the nation of Captain Raja Mohammad Sarwar, Major Aziz Shaheed who fought in the 1965 war, Squadron Leader Muhammad Mahmood Alam popularly known as MM Alam who shot two hunter aircraft and damaged three others on September 6th 1965 were also given tributes.
Defence Day serves as a reminder of Pakistan’s history, such as the surprise Indian attack on September 6, 1965—the unity and resilience of the nation during that period, along with the Pakistan Air Force.
