The count of daily coronavirus cases is on a decline in Pakistan as there were just 663 new infections that the country reported during the past 24 hours.

As per the National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) latest statistics, a total of 39,902 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours – with only 663 returning positive. This took the overall caseload of Pakistan to 1,265,047.

The stats reveal that this is the third day when Pakistan has seen less than 30,000 active cases of infection. Pakistan has, as of Monday, a total of 26,237 active cases of coronavirus.

On the other hand, a total of 11 people lost their lives to COVID-19 in Pakistan during the same period. This pushed the countrywide death toll to 28,280.

It merits mentioning that the country’s COVID-19 positivity ratio stood at 1.66% as of Monday.

In addition to this, a total of 1,019 patients across Pakistan recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This has brought down the total number of recoveries to a whopping 1,210,897 people.

With 918 fresh infections reported each day on average, COVID-19 infections are on a downslide in Pakistan.

The highest daily average – 16% positivity ratio – was reported on June 17.

As per the NCOC, Pakistan has administered a total of 93,551,193 COVID vaccines so far.

If we assume that every person needs two doses, the count signifies that about 21.6% of the country’s population has been vaccinated so far.

Pakistan, during the last week, averaged about 918,586 doses each day. As per experts, at that rate, it will take about 48 days more to administer ample doses for another 10% of our population.
