coas to host special iftar for pakistan cricket team
As the Pakistan cricket team puts in hard work at the fitness camp in Kakul, Chief of Army Staff COAS General Asim Munir plans to host a special iftar for them on April 7 in Rawalpindi.
The players, known as the “Green Shirts,” are currently training at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) in Abbottabad. Originally, their training was set to end on April 8, but it has been rescheduled to conclude a day earlier on April 7. After wrapping up their training, the players will head straight to Rawalpindi to break their fast with the army chief during the holy month of Ramadan. After the iftar, they will return home to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their families.
The iftar gathering will include key players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, among other players, who have been actively participating in the training camp.
Meanwhile, the upcoming cricket action is eagerly awaited, as New Zealand is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on April 14 for a five-match T20I series. The matches will be held at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi and later in Lahore. Notably, some New Zealand players, including Trent Boult and Kane Williamson, will miss the series due to their commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pakistan’s squad for the series is expected to be announced soon.
